SOCIAL MEDIA SORTED W THESE 3 RULES...
Keeping Up With The Kardashians? Actually, yes.
Keeping up with your own social media? Errrr…
It’s chill. We got you, with some of our sweet tips - batch your content using various rules. Rules which create a nice cohesive content balance.
Let's take a look at some of the rules...
70/20/10 RULE
This one is popular among social media managers...
70% of your posts should add value and be informative. Be funny, raw, real, whatever. Just give your followers some substance + write content which can help out your ideal client.
20% should create connections with your ideal client / customer. Maybe something personal. Behind the scenes of your brand. A meme they can relate too.
10% should be about promoting your bizzo/brand/service. Selling your services or benefits of your brand but only a smidge -cos no one likes the hard sell.
80/20 RULE
Or there’s an easier rule – the 80/20 rule...
80% of your posts should inform, educate, or entertain your audience. Like the 70/20/10 rule, just make sure most of your content is covering off these areas.
20% can directly promote your brand. Be sales-y without being too sales-y.
RULE OF THIRDS
Then there’s the social media rule of thirds...
1/3 of your social content promotes your business, converts readers and generate profit
1/3 of your social content shares ideas and stories from thought leaders in your industry or like-minded businesses [don't forget to tag and share the love!]
1/3 of your social content involves the more personal side to your brand or business.
Whatever percentage and rule you choose, it’s time for the fun to start - crafting and writing your posts! And gathering photos. Once you have your posts locked in and photos sorted, use a scheduling tool like Hootsuite or Buffer to prepare your posting in advance rather than updating constantly throughout the day.
Yup - social media sorted!
